Rydal red
Penningtonweaves Fabricrydal/fa1/cor
Rydal Red shows a trailing floral design in raspberry, rose and soft moss tones on a pale ground. The weave gives the pattern a slightly tapestry-like softness, with the red reading warm and gently weathered rather than bright.

About this fabric
This colourway is made up in 78% cotton and 22% polyester, with a substantial 594gsm handle and a 15000 Martindale rating, making it practical for upholstery as well as curtains and blinds. The design repeats as a loose, climbing floral with fine stems, small berry motifs and larger petal shapes, all visible in the textured woven surface. In this red version, the berry and blossom notes feel muted and layered, with raspberry and wine shades softened by pale cream ground and touches of sage, ochre and faded blue. The overall effect is busy in pattern but easy in tone, so it brings movement without looking harsh. Dry clean only and iron safe care keep it straightforward for made-to-measure use.
How to use it
Use it on an armchair or a pair of statement curtains where the warm red can play against painted wood, limestone, or neutral upholstery. The softened raspberry ground works especially well in rooms that need colour but still want a relaxed, lived-in feel.
A lively woven floral that brings colour without feeling overly bold.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Rydal red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
