Rydal Blue brings a fresh, airy feel to the Penningtonweaves design, with trailing botanical stems and leaf forms set against a pale ground. The blue tones are softened by sage, aqua and a touch of ochre, giving the pattern a gentle, lived-in look.

About this fabric

Woven in a 78% cotton, 22% polyester blend, this fabric has a substantial 594gsm handle and a 15,000 Martindale rating, making it suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery. The design reads as a delicate trailing botanical with slender stems and scattered leaves, all picked out in muted blue, sea-glass and olive tones. In this colourway, the blue is cool and diffused rather than bright, so the pattern feels calm and slightly weathered on the pale ground. The 140cm width and 35cm x 37.5cm repeat support larger-scale applications while still keeping the motif visually light.

How to use it

Use Rydal Blue where you want a restrained pattern that still has movement, especially in rooms with pale oak, linen and brushed metal. It works particularly well on a relaxed armchair or Roman blind, where the soft blue-green palette can catch daylight without feeling stark.

Pair with natural timbers and chalky neutrals to keep the palette airy and calm.
