Fjord blue

Riviera Fabricfjord/fa1/cob

Fjord Blue in Riviera has a cool, misty watercolour look, with layered bands of blue, aqua and slate that feel like shifting sea and sky. The washed, clouded effect gives the cloth a calm, atmospheric character.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% cotton and specified for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings, this fabric has a lightweight 230gsm handle that suits flowing window treatments. The large horizontal and vertical repeats of 45.3cm and 46.9cm support the broad, painterly bands visible in the design, where pale aqua sits over denim blue and deeper slate accents. The colourway reads fresh and cool rather than bright, with a softened marine depth that is lifted by lighter, misted areas. It is iron safe and dry clean only, making it a practical decorative fabric for rooms that want a tranquil coastal tone.

How to use it

Pair this fjord blue with pale timber, chalky whites and brushed nickel for a crisp, seaside palette. It works especially well in rooms that need a calm wash of colour without the weight of a solid blue.

Use it for airy curtains or relaxed blinds where the soft, watery blues can read as a calm statement.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
