Crustaceans grey

Riviera Fabriccrustac/fa1/sla

Soft blue-grey crustaceans drift across a warm ivory ground in this airy, watercolour print. The washed tones keep the design calm and coastal rather than sharp or contrasty.

About this fabric

Crustaceans Grey is a 100% cotton fabric with a usable width of 136cm, a total width of 147cm and a weight of 230gsm, making it a versatile choice for soft furnishings and window treatments. The print shows large crustacean motifs in layered blue-grey, slate and misty taupe washes, with pale cream highlights that sit lightly on the surface. Its 68cm horizontal repeat and 42.5cm vertical repeat give the design generous scale, which reads clearly on curtains and blinds. The overall effect is cool, muted and slightly weathered, with the cotton base keeping the finish natural rather than glossy. It is dry clean only and iron safe, and it is not fire retardant.

How to use it

Use it in a coastal or contemporary country scheme with chalky whites, driftwood neutrals and pale oak. The cool grey palette works especially well where you want pattern without overpowering a light room.

Best on relaxed curtains, Roman blinds, or statement cushions where the cool grey wash can breathe.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
