Meerwood red
Penningtonweaves Fabricmeerwoo/fa1/pop
Meerwood Red brings a painterly floral to life in layered crimson, rose and muted green tones on a pale ground. The brushy roses feel lively but not overly bright, with the red reading softened rather than sharp.

About this fabric
Woven in 78% cotton and 22% polyester, this fabric has a substantial feel at 594 gsm and a 15000 Martindale rating, making it suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery. The visible design is a loose, oversized floral with swirling rose motifs and slender stems, worked in red, blush, lilac and olive across an off-white background. In this colourway, the reds sit between crimson and dusty rose, so the overall effect is warm and welcoming rather than vivid. The texture in the weave adds a slightly rustic, tactile look that suits both decorative upholstery and statement window treatments. It is dry clean only and iron safe.
How to use it
Use Meerwood Red on an occasional chair or lined curtains where the soft crimson flowers can add depth without overwhelming the room. It works especially well with chalky neutrals, aged timber and brass details.
Pair with warm neutrals and natural wood to let the painterly red blooms lead the room.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Meerwood red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
