Meerwood purple

Penningtonweaves Fabricmeerwoo/fa1/lil

Meerwood Purple brings a painterly floral look with soft lilac, rose and olive tones spread across an ivory ground. The weave has a lightly textured, tactile feel that keeps the design relaxed rather than overly polished.

About this fabric

Woven in 78% cotton and 22% polyester, this fabric has a reassuringly substantial handle and a Martindale rating of 15,000, making it suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery. The print shows loose, oversized blossoms and fine trailing stems in lilac, pink, moss and muted plum, all set against a pale ground that gives the colourway an airy finish. In this purple version, the design reads gentler than bold plum: the lilac notes soften the overall effect while the deeper rose accents add depth. It is dry clean only and iron safe, with a usable width of 140cm and a vertical pattern repeat of 54.3cm.

How to use it

Pair Meerwood Purple with chalky neutrals, pale oak and brushed brass for a fresh, tailored scheme. It works especially well for full-length curtains or a feature armchair where the floral scale can be appreciated.

Use it for statement drapery or an occasional chair where the lilac and rose tones can stand out against pale walls.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
