Shinku Putty

Japandi Fabrics FabricSCF0076-01

Shinku Putty presents a quiet putty-taupe ground traced with chalky ivory geometric forms. Its close woven surface gives the pale colourway gentle depth, while the repeated pattern remains crisp and orderly.

About this fabric

This 435 gsm fabric has a muted taupe-putty base with alternating rounded and leaf-like shapes picked out in warm ivory, creating a softly graphic finish rather than a high-contrast one. The 23.2 cm vertical and 21.2 cm horizontal pattern repeat gives the design a clearly readable, medium-scale rhythm across upholstery. At 127 cm wide, with a standard 40 m length and 27 threads per cm, it has a substantial, closely made construction suited to upholstered furniture. The low-key tonal contrast allows the fine woven texture to show through without overwhelming the geometric motif.

How to use it

Use Shinku Putty on a lounge chair, headboard or compact sofa where its warm grey-beige tone can sit alongside oak, limestone, linen and soft ivory accents. Keep surrounding shapes simple so the interlocking pattern reads as a refined Japandi detail.

Pair the softly contrasting putty and ivory geometry with pale timber, natural fibres and clean-lined upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
