Estuary Birds Linen Eggshell/Nest

Embleton Bay Fabrics FabricSAF0229-01

Estuary Birds Linen Eggshell/Nest shows a light eggshell ground with watercolour shorebirds, stones and marsh grasses drifting across the cloth. The overall effect is airy and quietly natural, with the motif sitting softly into the background rather than reading as bold contrast.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric has a usable width of 137 cm, a standard length of 60 m, an 80 cm vertical repeat and a 137 cm horizontal repeat. At 208 gsm with 40 threads per cm, it reads as a substantial printed cloth rather than a flimsy sheers-style textile, which helps the painterly detail hold its shape. The eggshell ground is warm and pale, with nest-like taupe, soft brown and muted sage notes in the birds, stones and reeds. The palette is low in contrast, so the print feels calm and weathered, with the watercolour strokes visible without becoming busy.

How to use it

Use this colourway for relaxed curtains, a Roman blind or a soft valance where the pale ground can brighten the room. It works especially well with bleached wood, sand-toned upholstery and muted green accents.

A soft coastal print that suits quiet curtains or a gentle Roman blind.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Estuary Birds Linen Eggshell/Nest without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
