About this fabric

This fabric has a usable width of 143 cm and a substantial 380 gsm weight, giving the cloth enough body for structured curtains as well as upholstered pieces. The damask repeat is large, with a 62.5 cm vertical repeat and 71.5 cm horizontal repeat, so the pattern reads with clear architectural rhythm across the surface. In this Gritstone colourway, the warm beige background feels mellow rather than yellow, while the ivory motif keeps the design bright and composed. The visible weave adds a subtle horizontal texture beneath the print, softening the formality of the classic pattern.

How to use it

Use Gritstone where you want a neutral damask that still has presence: it works well on an upholstered armchair, a formal sofa, or interlined curtains. Its warm beige tone sits easily with natural wood, chalky paint colours and quietly polished brass.

A softly luminous neutral that brings a classic, tailored feel to elegant interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Highgrove Damask Gritstone without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
