About this colour

This shade sits in the warmer part of the spectrum, with red and clay notes that give #BB856D a reassuring depth on walls and woodwork. It lifts a little in good light, but it does not become airy; instead, it keeps its body and makes a room feel enclosed in a calm way. In a north-facing room, Squirrel will lean cooler and more muted, bringing out its brown base and making it feel more grounded. In south-facing light, the terracotta side becomes clearer and the colour looks richer, especially in Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell. It sits well beside natural oak, dark walnut, linen weaves, camel-toned upholstery and muted greens.

How to use it

Use Squirrel in a sitting room, study or hallway where a warm, composed wall colour is wanted. It pairs neatly with painted joinery in off-white, or with timber furniture and upholstery in stone, tobacco, olive or deep navy tones.
