Calais Fabric

Calais Steel is a cool, understated grey with a fine woven surface that reads clean and modern. The plain weave gives it a quiet texture rather than a flat finish.

About this fabric

This colourway sits in a true mid grey with a cool, steel-like cast, softened by the slight variation of the weave. The surface has a neat, tightly woven look that catches the light subtly across the cloth, giving it gentle depth without a pattern. It is supplied as a curtaining fabric and its generous 300 cm width makes it especially practical for wide window drops and seamless drapes. The composition is 52% Recycled Polyester and 48% Polyester, offering a straightforward, easy-to-style textile with a contemporary feel.

How to use it

Use Calais Steel for floor-length curtains, wave headers or simple blinds where the cool grey can sharpen pale walls and timber finishes. It also works well as a quiet counterpoint to stone, black accents and pale upholstery.

A crisp, versatile grey that works beautifully as tailored curtains or a calm neutral backdrop.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
