Calcutta Graphite

Calcutta Fabric

Calcutta Graphite presents a cool graphite grey ground with fine horizontal striping and a softly textured weave. The effect is tailored and understated, with the darker slubs giving the surface a crisp, tactile rhythm.

About this fabric

Woven in a blend of 40% viscose, 34% polyester, 20% cotton, 3% acrylic and 3% nylon, this upholstery fabric has a refined, slightly dry handle that reads neatly across the surface. The 25,000 Martindale rub test makes it suitable for everyday seating, while the 137 cm width offers practical cutting for larger pieces. Its small horizontal repeat of H35 x V7.5 creates a subtle linear pattern that breaks up the graphite field without feeling busy. The overall colour sits in a cool, mid-to-dark grey range, with enough depth to feel grounded and contemporary.

How to use it

Use Calcutta Graphite on sofas, dining chairs or a headboard where the cool grey tone can sharpen pale walls or timber. It works especially well with black accents, concrete finishes and soft ivory linens for a balanced, modern scheme.

A crisp graphite tone that gives structured upholstery a clean, tailored edge.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
