Calais Fabric

Calais Silhouette is a deeply shaded charcoal plain with a soft, matte look and a close woven texture. The wide cloth falls in relaxed folds, letting the darker tone pool and lift subtly across the surface.

About this fabric

Woven in 52% recycled polyester and 48% polyester, this 300 cm-wide fabric is designed for curtaining and has no stated martindale rub test. The plain weave reads as a fine grid in the close-up, with a compact texture that keeps the finish looking crisp rather than glossy. In this colourway, the grey sits very close to black, but the folded areas reveal a gentler graphite depth where the light catches the surface. Its broad width makes it practical for large curtain drops, sheers, or seamless window treatments.

How to use it

Use this charcoal tone for floor-length curtains, where its quiet depth will frame pale walls and lighter upholstery. It also works well with oak, concrete, and brushed metal for a sharper, architectural scheme.

A dark, understated cloth that gives curtains a tailored, modern finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
