Indienne Print Natrual/Aubusson

Antiquary FabricZOF0153-02

An aged cream ground is filled with an intricate indienne arrangement of leaves, flowers, curling stems and small ornamental forms. The muted Aubusson-blue drawing gives this colourway a cool, gently timeworn character rather than a bright or high-contrast finish.

About this fabric

The softly irregular botanical layout combines blue-grey foliage, pale sage shading and delicate charcoal-like outlines against the warm cream ground. Several large floral heads and scrolling branches sit alongside smaller sprigs, creating a richly detailed pattern across the surface. At 205 gsm with 40 threads per cm, the fabric has a substantial mid-weight presence suitable for both upholstery and drapery. Its 136.5 cm usable width is matched by a 136.5 cm horizontal repeat, while the vertical repeat is a generous 166 cm, allowing the large composition to be planned carefully across a piece.

How to use it

Use this cool, muted cream-and-Aubusson colourway on a reading-room chair, bench or full-length curtains where its large botanical repeat can be appreciated. Balance the detailed surface with plain linen, softly weathered wood and blue-grey accents rather than strong saturated colour.

Use the aged cream ground and muted Aubusson-blue botanicals to bring composed, heritage character to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
