About this colour

At #82828C, Pewter reads as a cool mid-grey with just enough blue to keep it from feeling flat. It reflects light softly rather than throwing it back, so it can make a room feel composed without looking dark. In a north-facing room it will lean quieter and more steel-like, while in south light the blue note eases and the colour looks slightly warmer and more balanced. It works well beside pale oak, walnut, black-painted joinery and upholstered pieces in charcoal, stone or indigo, where its neutrality gives the other materials room to breathe. In Acrylic Eggshell, Elite Emulsion or True Matt, it keeps the same measured, architectural feel.

How to use it

Use Pewter on walls in a sitting room, study or hallway where you want a settled background. It suits painted skirting and joinery, and sits neatly beside linen, mohair, velvet and patterned curtains in muted blues, mushroom or off-white.

On a wall, Pewter gives a cool, steady grey with a blue edge.
