Zoffany FR Velvet Cobalt Blue

Performance Velvets VelvetZOF0199-03

Zoffany FR Velvet in Cobalt Blue has a saturated, cool blue tone that shifts from deep cobalt to brighter electric blue as the pile catches the light. The close view shows a plain velvet surface with soft directional folds rather than a woven motif.

About this fabric

This is a substantial 994 gsm velvet with a 140 cm usable width, giving the cloth a dense, weighty presence for upholstery. Its 67 threads per cm support the close, even ground visible across the swatch, while the pile creates pronounced highlights along each fold. The colour is an intense cobalt blue: cooler and more vivid in the raised areas, with deeper midnight-blue shading where the pile turns away from the light. Both pattern repeats are 0 cm, confirming the plain, non-directional appearance shown here.

How to use it

Use this cobalt blue on a statement armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its saturated colour can anchor a room. Pair it with pale neutrals to emphasise the bright blue highlights, or with darker timber and inky accents for a deeper, more dramatic scheme.

A dense cobalt velvet with a vivid blue tone and directional sheen, suited to upholstered seating and headboards.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
