About this fabric

The ground reads as a soft charcoal and cool grey, overlaid with irregular vertical strokes in mossy olive, pale taupe, muted cream and restrained plum. Rather than forming a regular geometric repeat, the design has an expressive, broken rhythm that resembles distressed brushwork. The close-up image shows a tactile, mottled surface, with lighter marks catching against deeper charcoal and purple-grey passages.
