Melrose Clay

Tatton Park Collection FabricMELROSE

Melrose Clay has a warm clay-pink ground with a fine ivory botanical repeat that gives the surface a soft, textured rhythm. The small-scale pattern feels ordered but relaxed, with a gently aged finish rather than a bright, glossy look.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% polyester and supplied as a drapes-only fabric, Melrose Clay is designed for curtains and window treatments rather than upholstery. The 140cm width and 10.5cm vertical by 8cm horizontal repeat make it practical for repeat-led drapery making, while the 350 g/lm weight gives it a pleasingly full handle. Visually, the colour sits between terracotta and blush, with a muted dusty warmth that softens the leaf-and-fern motif. The ivory patterning lifts against the clay ground, so the design reads clearly without feeling high-contrast or harsh.

How to use it

This colourway works well in rooms with warm woods, aged brass and creamy linen, where the clay tone can bring gentle warmth. It is especially effective for full-height curtains or Roman blinds in spaces that want pattern, but still feel calm and grounded.

Use with warm oak, plaster pinks or soft cream for a layered, elegant scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Melrose Clay without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
