Loire Calamine

Verona Collection FabricLOIRE

Loire Calamine is a calm, low-key plain with a soft pale taupe appearance and a subtly slubbed woven surface. Its quiet finish reads warm and understated, with just enough texture to stop the colourway from feeling flat.

About this fabric

Woven in 70% cotton and 30% linen, this plain fabric has a natural, slightly dry handle that suits relaxed interiors. The visible cloth shows a fine crossweave with gentle tonal variation, giving the pale taupe shade a softly chalked, almost powdered look in the light. With a width of 142 cm and a rub test result of 18,000, it is suitable for light domestic upholstery as well as drapes and blinds. At 340 gsm, it sits in a useful mid-weight range that brings enough body for upholstery accents while still hanging neatly at the window. Made in India, it feels composed and versatile rather than decorative.

How to use it

Use Loire Calamine on a tailored armchair, banquette, or Roman blind to bring a warm neutral layer into a scheme. Its muted taupe tone pairs especially well with limestone, oak, putty, and soft black accents.

An easy neutral for understated upholstery or soft, filtered drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
