Loire Flint is a calm, cool grey plain with a softly woven surface and a linen-rich look. The colour sits between stone and slate, giving it a restrained, modern character.

About this fabric

Woven from 70% cotton and 30% linen, Loire Flint has the natural, lightly textured handle you can see in its fine cross-weave and subtle matte finish. The 18,000 rub test and 142cm width make it suitable for light domestic upholstery, drapes and blinds, while the 483gsm weight gives it enough substance to hang or cover neatly. In this colourway the grey reads as a cool flint tone rather than a flat charcoal, with just enough softness to keep it from feeling severe. The plain style and India origin suit a clean, versatile scheme where texture does the work instead of pattern.

How to use it

Use Loire Flint on a small upholstered chair, bench or headboard where its cool grey tone will sharpen the room without dominating it. It also makes a good blind or relaxed curtain fabric beside white paint, pale timber and brushed metal finishes.

A cool, understated neutral that works beautifully across tailored upholstery and relaxed curtain dressing.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
