About this fabric

This plain fabric combines 70% cotton with 30% linen, giving it the dry, natural handle and subtle slub character visible in the weave. At 142cm wide, it is specified for light domestic upholstery, drapes and blinds, and its 18,000 rub test makes it a practical choice for lower-traffic seating as well as window treatments. The 483gsm weight and 340gsm square metre figure suggest a substantial mid-weight cloth with enough body to hang neatly while still keeping a tailored finish. In this colourway, the slate grey reads cool and calm, with a soft matte depth that catches the light gently rather than reflecting it sharply.

How to use it

Use Loire Slate to ground a scheme with crisp whites, pale oak and black accents, where the cool grey can feel architectural and restrained. It is especially effective on a neat armchair or Roman blind when you want texture without introducing a stronger colour.
