About this fabric

This Clarke & Clarke fabric weighs 370gsm, giving the close-set weave a substantial, upholstery-suitable handle. The surface is plain rather than patterned, but fine horizontal and vertical threads create a subtle crosshatched effect and restrained tonal depth. The mauve colour is softened with a grey cast, avoiding a bright or sugary purple and giving the swatch a calm, quietly vintage character. With a 137cm usable width, a 40m standard length and no listed horizontal or vertical pattern repeat, it offers straightforward cutting for upholstery applications.

How to use it

Use Amalfi Mauve on a statement armchair, headboard or compact sofa where its cool, greyed-purple tone can sit against warm ivory, mushroom, pale timber or aged brass. The lightly textured plain weave adds depth without introducing a competing motif.

Use this cool dusty mauve weave to soften upholstery alongside pale wood, chalky neutrals and brushed metal.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
