About this fabric

The colour reads as a deep, cool black with faint charcoal shifts across the weave, giving the surface a softly dimensional appearance. Fine horizontal striations and irregular tonal movement are visible close up, rather than a printed motif or repeating design. At 406 gsm, this is a substantial fabric well suited to upholstery, including sofas, chairs and headboards. The 138 cm useable width and zero-centimetre vertical and horizontal pattern repeats make it straightforward to plan across plain upholstered panels. The standard length is 30 m.

How to use it

Pair Riva Ebony with pale timber, chalky walls or brushed metal when you want its near-black depth to anchor a room without introducing a pattern. It also works as a tonal counterpoint to warm leather, rust and deep olive accents.

Use this dense ebony weave to give sofas, dining chairs and headboards a quietly tailored, almost-black finish.
