About this fabric

Part of the Brooke Stripes collection by Colefax and Fowler, this fabric is woven in a 49% cotton, 51% linen blend with a width of approximately 138cm and a vertical repeat of 0cm / horizontal repeat of approximately 1.5cm. The stripe reads as a slender emerald green line, lightly softened by a cooler teal cast, alternating with fine neutral pinstripes and wider pale grounds. The visible linen content gives the cloth a dry, slightly open texture, so the colour sits matte rather than glossy and feels especially crisp in the light. With no performance features noted, it is best chosen for decorative upholstery or drapery where a refined stripe is wanted without heaviness.

How to use it

Use it on a tailored armchair, a headboard or simple curtains where the narrow emerald stripes can add rhythm without overpowering the room. It pairs well with chalky whites, pale oak and other green tones for a fresh, understated scheme.

A crisp green stripe that feels fresh against painted woodwork and classic upholstery shapes.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Elmscott Stripe Emerald without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
