Skylon Teal

Gustav FabricJ0077-05

Skylon Teal has a layered, brushy look, with teal and aqua tones broken up by softer beige and taupe flecks. The effect is lively but softened, like colour seen through a weathered glaze.

About this fabric

This Gustav fabric from Jane Churchill is composed of 69% polyester, 30% viscose and 1% polyamide, and it comes in an approximate 140cm width with a large repeat of V 85cm / H 70cm. The surface shows a distressed, abstract striation that reads as teal first, then cool aqua and sea-green, with warmer sandy notes lifting the depth. Its woven texture has a slightly textural, cloth-like appearance, so the colourway feels layered rather than flat. The overall mood is fresh but grounded, with enough visual movement to hold interest over a larger upholstered piece or a full set of curtains.

How to use it

Pair Skylon Teal with pale oak, chalky neutrals or smoked glass to let its cool teal notes stand out. It works especially well in rooms that can carry a little pattern movement without feeling busy, such as a smart sitting room or a restful bedroom.

Use it for statement upholstery or relaxed drapes where the painterly teal texture can take centre stage.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
