About this fabric

This Hudson fabric by Jane Churchill has a compact vertical and horizontal repeat of approximately 2cm, giving the tiny diamond motif a crisp, orderly rhythm across the surface. Woven in 70% Cotton, 19% Acrylic, 7% Linen and 4% Polyester, it has a dry, tailored handle that reads as versatile rather than heavy. The red colourway is softened with pink and chalky beige notes, so it feels warmer and more restrained than a bright pillar-box red. At approximately 138cm wide, it offers a practical width for both small-scale upholstery pieces and smart curtain making, and the √BH fire code adds to its suitability for interior use.

How to use it

This muted red works well with natural wood, warm white walls and brass details, especially where you want pattern without strong contrast. It also pairs neatly with linen neutrals and deeper terracotta accents for a layered, sympathetic scheme.

Use it for tailored upholstery or elegant curtains where a muted red can add warmth without feeling loud.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
