Sound Wood

Sound FabricL9344-07

Sound Wood is a richly muted linen in a deep olive-brown shade, with a softly mottled surface that catches the light without looking glossy. The plain weave gives it a calm, grounded presence.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, Sound Wood has a 147cm approximate width and a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm, so the emphasis stays on its subtle texture rather than pattern. The colour reads as a dark woodsy brown with an olive cast, warmed by low golden undertones in the pile-free weave. In this image the surface looks dry and tactile, with the fine linen grain adding gentle movement across the whole swatch. It suits both upholstery and drapery where a restrained, natural finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use Sound Wood to bring depth to oak, walnut and aged brass, or as a darker grounding fabric against plaster, stone and warm white walls. Its earthy tone gives a room weight without feeling heavy.

A muted earthy shade that works well with timber, leather and softened neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
