About this fabric

This fabric is from Jane Churchill’s Tarka collection and is supplied as a 140cm-wide textile with a repeat of approx. V 14cm / H 35cm. Its blend of 38% viscose, 23% cotton, 16% linen, 14% polyester, 7% acrylic and 2% polyamide gives the cloth a natural-looking body with a slightly refined surface. In Marla Grey, the pattern reads as a low-contrast, woven geometry, with ivory-toned vertical marks that lift the softer taupe-grey ground. The colourway feels calm and versatile, with enough texture to add interest without overpowering a room.

How to use it

Use Marla Grey on a tailored armchair, occasional sofa or cushions where its subtle pattern can be seen up close. It also works well with pale oak, chalky paint colours and cooler stone tones for a quietly layered scheme.

A muted grey with subtle woven contrast, ideal for calm schemes with texture.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
