Marla Grey
Tarka FabricJ0118-04
Marla Grey has a quiet, textural look, with pale vertical striations and small stepped accents that sit softly across the ground. The overall effect is a warm, understated grey that feels considered rather than stark.

About this fabric
This fabric is from Jane Churchill’s Tarka collection and is supplied as a 140cm-wide textile with a repeat of approx. V 14cm / H 35cm. Its blend of 38% viscose, 23% cotton, 16% linen, 14% polyester, 7% acrylic and 2% polyamide gives the cloth a natural-looking body with a slightly refined surface. In Marla Grey, the pattern reads as a low-contrast, woven geometry, with ivory-toned vertical marks that lift the softer taupe-grey ground. The colourway feels calm and versatile, with enough texture to add interest without overpowering a room.
How to use it
Use Marla Grey on a tailored armchair, occasional sofa or cushions where its subtle pattern can be seen up close. It also works well with pale oak, chalky paint colours and cooler stone tones for a quietly layered scheme.
A muted grey with subtle woven contrast, ideal for calm schemes with texture.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Marla Grey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
