Carnforth Blue

Tarn FabricF4799-06

Carnforth Blue has a softly weathered blue surface that reads cool and airy rather than bright. The fine, almost painterly slubbing gives the cloth a relaxed linen character with subtle movement across the weave.

About this fabric

This colourway combines 41% viscose, 40% linen, 11% cotton, 5% acrylic and 3% polyester, giving it a lightly textured handle with a dry, natural look softened by a gentle sheen. The blue is pale and misted with grey, so the vertical striation and slub are visible without feeling busy. With a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm approx and a width of 139cm approx, it works as an easy, uninterrupted surface for larger pieces or calm window treatments. The overall effect is understated and fresh, with enough depth in the weave to stop the tone from looking flat.

How to use it

Use it where you want a quiet blue that sits comfortably with chalky whites, weathered oak and pale grey upholstery. Its cool, softened tone also layers well beside deeper navy accents or washed natural linens.

A calm blue with a lightly strié linen look that feels easy and versatile.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
