About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is woven in a 78% polyester, 22% cotton blend and measures 140cm wide, with a pattern repeat of 32cm vertical by 35.5cm horizontal. The cloth reads as a classic oversized check, but the colouring keeps it calm rather than bold: the ground is pale and mellow, while the intersecting stripes bring in brick red, navy and muted green-brown accents. The weave has a dry, practical look that suits a fabric with a relaxed country character, and the FR collection naming gives it a furnishing-led feel for everyday interiors. Because the palette is warm and slightly faded, it feels less crisp than a bright tartan and more like a softened autumn plaid.

How to use it

Use this colourway on armchairs, bench cushions or Roman blinds where the terracotta and navy stripes can sit against timber, leather or painted cream joinery. It works especially well in rooms that already have warm neutrals and a little darker contrast.
