Balmoral Charcoal

Misc Fabric

Balmoral Charcoal shows a classic large check with a cool, tailored feel. The charcoal lines sit over a pale ivory ground, giving the pattern clear contrast without looking harsh.

About this fabric

Woven in 78% polyester and 22% cotton, this fabric has the practical handle of a blended cloth and a neat, structured appearance. The 140cm width and 32cm vertical by 35.5cm horizontal repeat make it suitable for larger-scale layouts where the check can read cleanly across a run. Visually, the colourway balances deep charcoal, soft taupe and light cream, with the darker bands giving the plaid a grounded, slightly heritage mood. The texture in the image looks smooth rather than bulky, so it reads as a versatile fabric that can sit comfortably in smart upholstery schemes or as a tailored drape.

How to use it

Use Balmoral Charcoal on an armchair, ottoman or bench to bring a crisp country-house note into a scheme. It also works well as curtains where the pale ground will help soften the strong charcoal checks.

A crisp plaid that gives structure to both tailored upholstery and relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
