Luxor Amethyst
Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric
Luxor Amethyst shows a richly textured woven surface in deep purple tones, lifted by fine gold-toned highlights that give the pattern a subtle shimmer. The sweeping feathered motif reads bold and decorative, with the metallic thread catching the light across the cloth.

About this fabric
This Porter & Stone fabric is woven in 93% polyester and 7% lurex, with a 140cm width and a 35.5cm vertical by 35.5cm horizontal repeat. The amethyst ground is dark and moody, sitting between plum and charcoal, while the gold accents pick out the wave-like feather pattern and keep the design from feeling flat. In the image, the surface has a clearly tactile, slightly chunky weave that adds depth and gives the motif a lively, dimensional look. It is a fabric with enough structure for upholstery, yet the shimmer and repeating movement also make it suitable for drapery. Care instructions: NQT1<.
How to use it
Pair this colourway with warm brass, walnut and deep paint shades for a layered, atmospheric room. It works especially well where you want a strong patterned accent without losing the richness of the purple base.
Use for statement upholstery or curtains where the metallic thread can catch the light.

Pairs well with
Luxor Amethyst is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
