Court Velvet VelvetBF11090.663

Court Velvet Topaz is a richly shaded blue-green velvet with a softly clouded surface. Its dark teal tone shifts subtly as the pile catches the light, giving the plain cloth depth without a visible motif.

About this fabric

Woven from 72% viscose, 21% cotton and 7% polyester, this 137 cm-wide velvet has a dense, softly brushed appearance in the swatch. The colour sits between deep teal and blue-green, with cooler charcoal-like shading where the nap turns away from the light. Rated at 50,000 Martindale, it is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. It must be professionally dry cleaned and should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use this deep blue-green colourway to give a sofa, occasional chair or upholstered headboard a moody, enveloping finish. It also makes substantial curtains or a bedspread, especially alongside warm timber, aged brass and softly muted neutrals.

A moody, light-catching velvet that brings depth to upholstered seating, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
