Rufus Stripe Ochre

Symington Stripes FabricBF11115.840

Rufus Stripe Ochre combines a deep, sun-warmed ochre ground with closely spaced vertical lines in cream, tan and subdued olive-brown tones. The woven surface gives the stripe a softly tactile, natural finish rather than a flat printed appearance.

About this fabric

This 90% cotton and 10% jute fabric is 134 cm wide and carries a 22.3 cm horizontal pattern repeat. Its vertical arrangement alternates broad ochre bands with fine, closely detailed lines, creating a measured stripe that feels traditional yet crisp. The warm ochre reads rich and earthy, while the lighter threads catch the light and prevent the colourway from feeling heavy. It is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; care instructions specify professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.

How to use it

Pair the ochre ground with natural timber, aged brass and warm neutrals for a grounded scheme, or use the fine cream and olive-brown striping to connect patterned cushions with plain upholstery. Its structured vertical rhythm is particularly effective on a tailored chair, roman blind or full-length curtain.

Use this warm ochre stripe to bring tailored colour and textural definition to upholstery, curtains or a coordinated bedspread.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Rufus Stripe Ochre without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
