Tetbury Velvet Ochre

Tetbury Velvet VelvetBF11156.840

Tetbury Velvet Ochre is a richly warm, golden-brown velvet with a softly shifting surface. The close-up shows a quiet, even pile rather than a printed motif, allowing the ochre tone to provide the visual depth.

About this fabric

Made from 92% cotton and 8% polyester, this 140 cm (55") velvet has a dense-looking surface with gentle tonal movement as the pile catches the light. Its ochre colour sits between burnished gold and warm brown, giving the plain cloth a mellow, enveloping character rather than a bright yellow appearance. With a 50,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. This fabric must be professionally dry cleaned and should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the deep ochre tone to add warmth to a darker sitting room, or upholster a statement chair where the velvet pile can shift subtly between golden and brown shades. It also brings a rich, grounded finish to bedspreads and full-length curtains.

A warm ochre velvet whose subtle pile shading brings depth to upholstered seating, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
