About this fabric

This Woodsmoke colourway reads as a restrained, warm taupe rather than a clear brown, giving it a quietly cocooning depth. The close, even velvet surface is plain in the photograph, with gentle nap variation making the colour shift softly as the light moves across it. Made from 92% cotton and 8% polyester, the fabric is 140 cm (55") wide. Its 50,000 Martindale rub test supports the listed uses of curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; it must be professionally dry cleaned.

How to use it

Use this warm grey-brown taupe on a generous sofa or upholstered headboard where its velvet pile can add depth without introducing a pattern. It also makes quietly luxurious curtains or bedspreads alongside cream, mushroom, walnut and aged metal finishes.

A softly shaded taupe velvet suited to tailored upholstery, curtains and layered bedroom schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
