Tetbury Velvet Ink

Tetbury Velvet VelvetBF11156.695

Tetbury Velvet Ink is a near-black navy velvet with a subtle, directional variation across the surface. The low light catches the pile gently, revealing slightly lighter blue areas within its deep ink tone.

About this fabric

Made from 92% cotton and 8% polyester, this 140 cm (55") velvet has a dense-looking surface with a softly mottled nap rather than a visible motif. Its 50,000 Martindale rub test makes it suitable for both loose and fixed upholstery, while the supplied usage also includes curtains and bedspreads. Care is strictly professional: do not wash, bleach or iron, and have the fabric dry cleaned professionally. The almost-black navy shade brings a cool, enveloping depth to the plain velvet finish.

How to use it

Use this ink navy on a statement armchair, sofa or upholstered headboard where its deep blue-black tone can create a cocooning focal point. It also makes dramatic full-length curtains, especially alongside warm timber, aged brass or pale neutral upholstery.

A deep ink navy velvet with a softly shifting nap, suited to tailored upholstery and dramatic curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
