About this fabric

This GP & J Baker velvet reads as a rich Tuscan red, moving between near-burgundy shadow and warmer crimson where the pile reflects the light. Its lightly shifting nap is clearly visible across the plain surface, giving the colour depth without introducing a motif. Composed of 92% cotton and 8% polyester, the 140 cm (55 in) width is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. A 50,000 Martindale rub test makes it a strong choice for hard-working upholstered pieces. Care is professional dry clean only: do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use this warm, deeply saturated red on a sofa, chair or headboard when the room needs a dramatic focal colour. Its plush surface also brings depth to full-length curtains or a bedspread, particularly alongside dark timber, aged brass and warm neutrals.

A rich, deep red velvet suited to statement upholstery, with enough weight for curtains and bedspreads too.
