Tetbury Velvet Spice is a richly saturated plain velvet in a deep spice red, with warm burnt-orange depth across its softly shaded surface. The close, even pile catches the light subtly as the nap changes direction.

About this fabric

This colourway has a warm, earthy intensity rather than a bright scarlet tone, giving the plain velvet a deep spice character. Its softly directional surface creates gentle tonal variation across the swatch without introducing a printed motif. Composed of 92% cotton and 8% polyester, it is 140 cm (55") wide and suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The fabric has a 50,000 Martindale rub test, while care requires professional dry cleaning; it must not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the deep spice-red tone to bring warmth and visual depth to a reading chair, sofa or upholstered headboard. It also works as a dramatic curtain or bedspread fabric when balanced with creamy neutrals, aged timber or darker brown accents.
