Cubby Spice

Cubby Spice is a warm terracotta-red textile with a softly mottled surface and fine vertical slubbing visible across the swatch. Its earthy red tone feels rich without appearing highly saturated.

About this fabric
Woven from 35% jute and 65% cotton, Cubby Spice has a tactile, lightly irregular texture that gives the terracotta colour subtle depth. The 134 cm width makes it suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. A 25,000 Martindale rub test supports its use on upholstered furniture, while the warm red-orange cast brings a grounded, inviting quality to the design. After use, it should not be washed, bleached or ironed and must be professionally dry cleaned.
How to use it
Use Cubby Spice to warm a reading chair, sofa or upholstered bed, pairing its terracotta red with natural wood, ochre, cream or deeper brown accents. As curtains, its softly textured weave can add colour without introducing a strong visible motif.
A warm, textured terracotta weave for relaxed upholstery, curtains and coordinated bedspreads.

Pairs well with
Cubby Spice is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
