Zephyr Spice

G P & J Baker X Kit Kemp Stripes II FabricBF11131.4

Zephyr Spice pairs a rich spice-terracotta ground with slim, detailed vertical bands that bring teal, pale blue and light neutral accents into the weave. The close-up swatch shows a tactile, subtly irregular woven surface rather than a flat printed stripe.

About this fabric

This fabric is woven from 75% cotton and 25% jute, giving the warm terracotta colourway visible texture and gentle tonal variation. Narrow patterned bands run vertically through the ground, with cool blue-green and pale highlights adding definition against the rusty spice base. The vertical pattern repeat is 10 cm and the horizontal pattern repeat is 33 cm, creating a rhythm that remains directional without overwhelming the cloth. At 132 cm wide, it is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; it must be professionally dry cleaned and should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use Zephyr Spice on a tailored chair, sofa or headboard where its warm terracotta depth can anchor a room, then echo the narrow blue-green accents in cushions or trims. Its 10 cm vertical repeat also makes it effective for full-length curtains with a crafted, structured look.

A warm terracotta stripe with woven character, suited to tailored upholstery, curtains and coordinated bedspreads.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Zephyr Spice without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
