Tetbury Velvet Chestnut

Tetbury Velvet Chestnut presents as a deep, warm reddish brown with the softly shifting surface typical of velvet. The close-up shows a largely plain ground, with subtle tonal variation where the pile catches the light.

About this fabric
This 92% cotton, 8% polyester velvet has a rich chestnut tone that moves between russet brown and deeper umber across the swatch. Its softly reflective pile gives the otherwise plain surface depth without introducing a visible motif or pattern. At 140 cm (55") wide, it is supplied for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, with a 50,000 Martindale rub test supporting hard-wearing upholstery use. Care is specialist: do not wash, bleach or iron, and have it professionally dry cleaned.
How to use it
Use the warm chestnut shade to bring depth to an upholstered armchair, sofa or headboard, especially alongside cream, tobacco, dark wood and aged brass. Its subtle nap variation can also add quiet richness to full-length curtains or a coordinated bedspread.
A warm, richly shaded velvet for statement upholstery, curtains and softly coordinated bedspreads.

Pairs well with
Tetbury Velvet Chestnut is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
