Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBP10646.1

Royal Damask Velvet Bronze has a deep, earthy bronze-brown ground with an ornate damask pattern emerging through the velvet pile. Its low-lit surface reveals subtle tonal shifts across the scrolling motifs.

About this fabric

This velvet is made from 55% viscose and 45% cotton, with a 135 cm width and a 50,000 Martindale rub test. The pattern combines mirrored, scrolling damask forms with fine distressed-looking detail, giving the bronze colourway considerable depth rather than a flat brown appearance. Its 39 cm vertical repeat and 45 cm horizontal repeat should be allowed for when matching the design. Supplied for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, it must be professionally dry cleaned and should not be washed, bleached or ironed.

How to use it

Use the warm, shadowed bronze tone on a buttoned armchair, headboard or traditional sofa where the velvet pile can catch the light across the damask. It also brings weight and atmosphere to full-length curtains in rooms with antique timber, dark metal or muted neutral finishes.

A richly shaded bronze velvet for statement upholstery, formal curtains and traditional bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
