Queen's Garden Velvet Verdigris

Historic Royal Palaces VelvetBP10644.2

Queen's Garden Velvet Verdigris has a smoky blue-green ground with small, faded botanical flowers scattered across its softly textured velvet pile. The cool verdigris shade is deepened by olive, taupe and muted cream details, giving the pattern a quietly atmospheric character.

About this fabric

This velvet is woven from 45% cotton and 55% viscose and measures 137 cm wide. Its delicate floral repeat measures 52 cm vertically by 69 cm horizontally, with pale blossom heads and subdued leafy motifs emerging from the cloudy, grey-green ground. The 50,000 Martindale rub test makes it suitable for fixed upholstery, loose upholstery, curtains and bedspreads. For care, it should not be washed, bleached or ironed, and must be professionally dry cleaned.

How to use it

Use the cool verdigris ground to upholster a statement chair, headboard or sofa in a room with aged timber, brushed metal and warm ivory accents. As curtains or a bedspread, its muted blue-green depth brings softness without overwhelming a darker, heritage-inspired scheme.

A shadowed blue-green velvet with softly faded florals for richly layered upholstery and curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
