Airlie Plaid Aqua

Essential Colour III - Colour FabricBF11211.725

Airlie Plaid Aqua has a soft, cool aqua ground crossed by delicate cream and muted warm threads. Its fine plaid reads almost like a textured crosshatch at close range, giving the surface gentle depth without a bold graphic effect.

About this fabric

The cloth is made from 80% cotton with viscose, linen, acrylic, polyamide and polyester, creating a finely textured woven surface. Subtle horizontal and vertical lines shift between pale aqua, cream and faint sandy tones, so the colour feels airy rather than strongly saturated. At 137 cm wide, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. A 27,000 Martindale rub test supports its use on upholstered furniture, while the care instructions require professional dry cleaning and prohibit washing, bleaching and ironing.

How to use it

Use this cool aqua colourway to soften a neutral sitting room, on a tailored armchair, loose-covered sofa or relaxed curtain. Pair it with chalky whites, pale timber and warm sandy accents to pick up the plaid’s subtle cream and beige threads.

A cool, finely checked aqua weave that brings quiet colour to upholstered seating, curtains and bedspreads.

Pairs well with

Airlie Plaid Aqua is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
