Chepstow Ochre

Essential Colour III - Colour FabricBF11219.840

Chepstow Ochre has a warm, muted ochre tone with a softly shaded surface that shifts gently across the cloth. Its fine horizontal texture gives the plain colour a natural, tactile presence without introducing a visible motif.

About this fabric

Woven from 30% linen, 28% viscose, 26% cotton, 12% wool and 4% nylon, this 137 cm-wide fabric combines a varied natural-fibre handle with a subtly striated appearance. The ochre reads as softly golden rather than bright yellow, with fine horizontal slubs and tonal depth visible across the swatch. A 27,000 Martindale rub test makes it suitable for both loose and fixed upholstery, while its listed uses also include curtains and bedspreads. It must not be washed, bleached or ironed and should be professionally dry cleaned.

How to use it

Use Chepstow Ochre to warm a neutral room through a relaxed upholstered chair, bench or headboard, or carry its soft golden tone into curtains and bedspreads. It pairs naturally with warm cream, flax, mushroom and muted brown finishes.

A warm, softly textured ochre that brings an easy natural tone to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
