Egerton Ochre

Essential Colour III - Colour FabricBF11179.2

Egerton Ochre shows tiny ochre and brown floral-diamond motifs arranged in close horizontal rows across a soft beige ground. Its finely woven surface gives the colourway a warm, lightly textured depth rather than a flat yellow appearance.

About this fabric

This small-scale textile is woven from 39% viscose, 39% polyester, 12% cotton, 7% linen and 3% polyamide, with a 10 cm vertical repeat and 6 cm horizontal repeat. The muted ochre motifs are softened by oatmeal beige, with darker brown accents adding definition at close range. At 138 cm wide and rated to 28,500 Martindale, it is specified for both loose upholstery and fixed upholstery. Care instructions are professional dry clean only; do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use Egerton Ochre to bring gentle golden warmth to a tailored armchair, dining seat or sofa, pairing it with tobacco leather, natural oak and quiet beige textiles. The close-set pattern works especially well where a subtle all-over motif is preferred over a bold statement print.

A warm, finely patterned upholstery cloth for tailored sofas, dining chairs and occasional seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Egerton Ochre without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
