Willow Bough Minor Blue

Little Book of Morris Fabrics FabricMOF0019-02

Willow Bough Minor Blue shows a dense field of tiny, curling willow-leaf sprigs in soft white and cool powder blue. Its finely repeated surface reads as airy and delicate at a distance, while the close-up image reveals the lively detail of the foliage.

About this fabric

This 230gsm Morris & Co. fabric combines a muted powder-blue ground with closely packed pale leaf motifs, giving the colourway a cool, softly washed appearance rather than a strong or saturated blue. The small pattern has a 23cm vertical repeat and 13.5cm horizontal repeat, allowing the willow sprigs to create an even, finely textured-looking surface across the cloth. With a 137cm usable width and 36.2 threads per cm, it is a versatile mid-weight option for both drapery and lighter upholstery applications. The standard length is 60m.

How to use it

Pair Willow Bough Minor Blue with chalky whites, pale greys and natural timber for a fresh, quiet scheme; its cool tone is especially suited to relaxed curtains, blinds, cushions and occasional chairs.

Use this cool powder-blue leaf pattern to bring a light, quietly botanical character to curtains, cushions or occasional upholstery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Willow Bough Minor Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
