Artichoke Embroidery Peacock/Cream

Morris and Friends Volume I Fabrics FabricMOF0054-03

Artichoke Embroidery in Peacock/Cream combines a warm cream ground with cool, clear blue artichoke forms and delicate berry-green botanical tracery. The colourway has a fresh, lightly vintage character, with the pale ground keeping the dense repeat bright rather than heavy.

About this fabric

Large stylised blue artichoke motifs are arranged across the cream ground, linked by fine curling stems, small green leaves and berry-red floral accents. The blue is predominantly light to mid-toned, giving the design a crisp, airy quality, while the muted berry marks add depth without overpowering the pattern. This fabric has a 131 cm usable width, a 62 cm vertical repeat and a 43.5 cm horizontal repeat, so the botanical layout should be considered carefully when cutting. At 247 gsm with 81 threads per cm, it is a versatile mid-weight suitable for both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Peacock/Cream on a reading chair, upholstered headboard or relaxed curtain scheme where its cool blue can sit against chalky whites, warm oak and soft stone. Pick up the small berry-red and green details with narrow piping, cushions or painted furniture accents.

Use the cool peacock blue as an accent against warm neutrals, with berry and green details echoed in cushions or trim.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
