Pure Marigold Print Black Ink

Pure Morris North Fabrics FabricMOF0105-02

Pure Marigold Print Black Ink sets pale, muted marigold botanicals against a deep charcoal ground. The closely drawn leaves, flowers and fine sprigs create a layered pattern with a distinctly tonal, inked appearance.

About this fabric

This Morris & Co. fabric has a usable width of 140 cm and a 265 gsm weight, giving the printed cloth a versatile mid-weight presence for upholstery and drapery. The 32 cm vertical and 34.5 cm horizontal repeats arrange curling foliage and rounded flower heads into a regular, richly filled composition. In this colourway, the dark black-ink charcoal background makes the warm grey-marigold foliage stand out softly rather than brightly, while the fine linework remains clearly visible across the surface. With 26.2 threads per centimetre, the cloth has a closely made ground suited to considered furnishing applications.

How to use it

Use the charcoal-and-muted-marigold palette on a reading chair, bench or full-length curtains, balancing it with warm timber, aged brass and quiet stone neutrals. Its dark ground can also anchor lighter upholstery around a room without making the botanical pattern feel overly vivid.

The charcoal ground and softly warm marigold botanicals bring measured pattern and depth to upholstery, curtains and cushions.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Pure Marigold Print Black Ink without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
